Marcos Maia

Bitvavo

Marcos Maia is a Senior Staff Engineer at Bitvavo, the biggest Crypto Exchange in the Benelux, and has been in the IT industry for over 20 years. Fiery about technology, distributed systems, engineering culture, and a lifelong learner, worked with multiple complex systems and teams in multiple different countries fulfilling many different roles over the years, from engineering to architecture and consultancy mostly within the financial, investments and telecom sectors. He loves to share his knowledge and experiences around development practices, engineering culture, distributed and low latency systems, and of course Apache Kafka. Over many years of working experience, he has delivered many talks about his passions to leadership teams, software developers, students, and customers.
